Lisbon traditionally has 3 cruise docks where small and large cruise ships dock. However, since mid-2018 most ships are now docked in Lisbon New Cruise Terminal.

If you came to Lisbon long ago you probably docked in Alcântara at Rocha Conde de Óbidos Dock or even in Santa Apolónia and although these docks are still in use mostly for smaller ships, on the last few years the docks closer to Lisbon city centre have been receiving most of the passenger cruise ship traffic in Lisbon. And since mid-2018 the new Lisbon cruise terminal has been in operation.

Santa Apolonia is located about 1,5 kilometres from Lisbon famous square By the Tagus river – Praça do Comércio. If you do not mind walking for about 20 minutes, you can go on foot to the city centre.

What we normally suggest is that you book a tour in the morning and if you book a roundtrip tour from Lisbon cruise port, you can enjoy lunch at the ship and venture by yourself in the afternoon.
